The breakfast Uncle Don made was eggs, bacon, rice, bagels, and fruits. At 7:20 AM, we had to leave for our briefing session for STN Crazy Eights Live Action Short Film. Once we got to the ballroom we headed inside to find Castaic middle school. We found Dylan and JC, we decided to sit by them and listen to the instructions from the speaker. We were given our packet, which had the topic of the short film and the prop of the short film. The packet also had the rules and the file name to export the final video by.
Once we were done with our briefing session, we had to run back to our film team and let them know the topic and the prop of our film . Our topic and prop for our film was "A Buck Short" and the prop was a dollar bill. We planned for about an hour or so and came up with a really great idea. I won't tell you what idea was but it was pretty great, once we finalize our idea we headed out to shoot. The place that we went to go shoot was first at the USS Midway boat.
After visiting the USS Midway, we headed down the street to film more B roll. Once we were done Ben and I headed back to the editing room and Brandon, Napua, Micah, Serena, and Angeline went to go finish recording more B roll. I feel like our end product was nicely done and I also feel like we told a good story.
The best part about crazy eights was that we can always go out to film more B roll, scenes, and extra voiceovers. Also this STN competition, crazy eights, we can get teacher help and parent help.
Once we finally turned in our final product, we headed over to Old Spaghetti Factory to eat with Castaic, our pen pals. I ate the chef special, which was Rich meat sauce with some red sauce and noodles. The serving was so big that I could not eat it all. Apparently my penpalswere very hungry because they finished their whole plate of lasagna. Once our dinner was done we decided to eat some Italian ice cream.
We later went back to the hotel to attend the opening ceremony in the grand ballroom on the first floor. One of the speakers that came up to the stage to start off STN's opening ceremonies was Doug Green, the STN president Mr. Green also has his own high school program for Carlsbad high school, also known as CHS TV. Carlsbad high school is also the host school for this year. Would you believe it if I told you that Doug Green went on our elevator all the way up to the seventh floor. I have a picture with him that I will later post when I get back home. Just visit my page Kelli's pictures. The opening ceremonies was about an hour half or two hours.
Well since my competition is tomorrow I guess I'll see you later, till then, bye!
