Today we went to Petco Park, where the Padres play, and took a tour of the stadium. Our tour guide was Melinda Oliver, a event staff member. During the tour I learned that the stadium is built around 111 years old building. I also learned that the Padres bought five more players for their baseball team. The stadium has a new big screen Jumbotron. The Jumbotron was so expensive that even the tour guide didn't know how much it cost. Did you know that to get season seats for the Padres for all their home games were $60,000for just one seat. I also learned that in 24 years they've only had 4 rainouts.
We toured inside of the visitors locker room, the batting cages, and the press room. After our tour at the Padres we stopped by at the Padres store to buy souvenirs. I decided to buy a baseball, keychains, and a sticker. Once we were done with buying our souvenirs we headed over to smash burgers to get lunch. Since we had a scavenger hunt after lunch Herenui and I decided to buy a bacon cheeseburger and half it with each other so it wasn't too filling.
When we all finished eating our lunch, we headed off to the trolley to go over to Old Town, the start of the Scavenger Hunt. My teammates on my scavenger hunt team was Taylor, Herenui, Jonathan, Dalson, and Aunty Genevieve. The route that we took to finish the scavenger hunt was starting at Old Town, then Little Italy, Columbia Street, then ending at the famous "kiss" statue. My team finished second, right after Mr. Matsunaga, who won $20. The main reason why we held this scavenger hunt was to look for places for Crazy 8 stand ups and interviews tomorrow.
After the scavenger hunt we headed back to the hotel, on the way we met Waiakea High School. Once we reached our hotel, we dropped off our backpacks in our room and went to uncle Don's room to eat dinner. For dinner we had spaghetti, bread, and salad. I had three servings of spaghetti because I did not have a big lunch.
When everyone finished eating dinner we grabbed our gifts and headed down to the fourth floor, where there was a fire pit. When we sat by the fire pit it was very very hot. After waiting for about five minutes our penpals from Castaic middle school came and we exchanged gifts. We talked to our penpals for about half an hour. They eventually had to leave because they did not get to eat dinner yet. Luckily we will be seeing them tomorrow at dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory just down the street.
Once our penpals left we decided to make s'mores in the fire. This Mars were so good that we wanted to just post the marshmallows and sometimes occasionally giving them to Carter. The marshmallows were so good, that I ate 3 of them! Well I should get some rest! Till next time, bye!
