If you told me that I would me getting two of my projects, News story and PSA, into a competition and in a television show, I would have said that you’re crazy. This year, the news story that I did with Taylor, Kalalau Rescue, went on an all Kauai episode of Hiki No and also was entered into STN Fall Nationals and won 3rd place. The Kalalau Video was also entered into the Olelo Youth Exchange but sadly did not make it to finals. My PSA “Think Before You Drink” was also entered into the Olelo Youth Exchange, but also did not make it to finals. I think this was without a doubt, the best year of all!
I, like everyone else in class knew that we would make friends, sometime during the school year, but for me I didn’t think that I would become so close and attached to some of the friends I made this year. “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” This is particularly true especially since this year I became friends with a lot of the sixth and seventh grade students. I have come to realize that, not only am I leaving Chiefess, but I’m leaving my CKTV Ohana and close friends.
The STN trip was amazing, even though our video didn’t make the deadline. I think our class really bonded over the trip, who wouldn’t when you’re stuck with everyone, day and night, for 10 days! During the trip Mr. M gave us a card each day to write on and give to one of our classmates, and it had to be something WELL THOUGHT OUT and POSITIVE! The whole meaning to this activity was to make sure that everyone was watching out for each other and being nice. I really enjoyed this trip and I only wish I could do it again with everyone!
There were so many more surprises that I encountered during this school year, but I decided to just put my top three. Love You All! For the last time, this is Kelli signing off!
